What to expect from your initial visit
An initial visit is typically 2 hours long. During this visit we will address your current complaints and concerns. Additional information regarding diet, lifestyle, digestion, sleep, stresses and history round out the overall holistic picture. With this information I am trying to connect the dots to find the root cause of symptoms. At the end of the visit we will put our heads together to determine the best course of action for YOU!
What is a Naturopathic Doctor?
Naturopathic doctors are licensed board certified physicians who have attended a 4 year naturopathic medical school. The first 2 years parallel conventional medical schools (MD'S and DO's) with a strong emphasis on basic medical sciences. The last 2 years consist of intensive clinical training in various settings (doctors offices, hospitals, clinics and more) focusing on holistic and complementary treatments such as homeopathy, botanical medicine, nutrition, counseling, naturopathic manipulative therapy, ayurvedic medicine, traditional chinese medicine, acupuncture, hydrotherapy and naturopathic analysis/case management. NDs are required to complete basic science board (NPLEX1) after the 2nd year and clinical science boards (NPLEX2) at the completion of training in order to become a licensed naturopathic physician.
